Stranraer Golf Club is the final course designed by James Braid; the culmination of his many years of outstanding golf course design. This is a course that’s worth making time to play, beautifully designed with a prevailing wind from the sea and some real testing holes.
Stranraer presents a true challenge for the better golfer, with excellent facilities and an immaculate course. The warm wash of the Gulf Stream provides this part of Scotland with a remarkably mild climate, making play possible on all but a handful of days.

Overlooking the North Channel to Ireland, Portpatrick Dunskey enjoys a temperate climate due to the Gulf Stream and is playable all year round. The Dunskey 18-hole, and the Dinvin 9-hole courses, which are a mixture of rolling moorland and seaside heath sit around 150 feet above sea level.
Both courses offer spectacular views and on clear days the Isle of Man, Mourne Mountains and Mull of Kintyre can be seen.

Wigtownshire County, near Glenluce has a reputation as one of the friendliest golf clubs in South West Scotland. The club was founded in 1894 and it is unique. It is the only 18-hole links in Galloway. Built around the sandy coastline of scenic Luce Bay, the natural terrain provides many traditional challenges as do the prevailing south-westerly winds. The course is a time-honoured links design; the back nine head away from the clubhouse and the front nine bring the golfer back. Due to its proximity to the sea golf is playable all year round.
