Cycling in the Rhins

In the Rhin’s there is so much unspoilt natural beauty to see, and what better way to take in every inch than cycling. Our quiet county roads make for an enjoyable and scenic cycle. At Gateway to Galloway, we have cycle routes mapped out for your convenience and we are on hand to advise you of any queries you may have. 

The Rhin’s Active Group meet at Gateway to Galloway every Sunday at 10.30am. All skill levels are accommodated for, if you are a beginner on these organised rides, you will have a qualified instructor along with you for guidance and support, or if you are an avid cyclist the Rhin’s Active Group will be able to assist you with local knowledge of the area and routes that would be suited to you're ability. Additionally, the Rhins Active Group can assist with any bike repairs. 

The Rhin’s Active Group have road and electric bikes for hire, whether it is to join them on an organised ride or to enjoy in your own time. Mountain Biking & Cycling Trails 

If your looking for an off road biking experience, 7Stanes has 2 centres in the Galloway area - Kirroughtree centre (28 miles from Stranraer) and Glentrool centre (35 miles from Stranraer). Run by the Forestry Commission, 7Stanes has award winning bike trails that stretch throughout the south of Scotland. There are numerous trails for different levels of ability and type of ride. Cycling Holidays 

Cycling holiday in Galloway are hosted by Galloway Cycling Holidays they specialise in unique cycling holidays and short breaks in the South West of Scotland. Guided or Self-guided tours that are tailored to suit you. They provide the routes, transfer your luggage, organise your accommodation and hire bikes, if you need them. There are no set dates, or group numbers. They also offer bike hire of quality bicycles (hybrid, road, gravel and eBikes) for day rides.
